Close your eyes: the morning air carries the scent of lavender, violet fields stretch before you, and Monte Catria rises in the background. Welcome to Agriturismo Il Poggio delle Favole, an authentic retreat in the Marche region, just 3 km from Cagli and minutes from Frontone, near the Frasassi Caves, Urbino (UNESCO), the Furlo Gorge, and the medieval villages of the valley. Here, lavender is the soul of the place: it blooms every year, coloring the landscape purple. From the handcrafted harvest come floral water, essential oil, and scented sachets. The farmhouse dates back to the 19th century and preserves the original family livestock feeders. The farm is lively and generous: Marrans chickens, artisanal honey, hand-picked lavender and saffron, its own vineyard, olive trees, and seasonal vegetables, all available for purchase on the farm. September is harvest time: among the rows of our vineyard, you can experience the grape harvest atmosphere. The milder temperatures are perfect for exploring the CAI trails and mule tracks of Monte Catria on foot or by motorcycle, discovering saffron picking and local markets. Scenic and dirt roads are also ideal for motocross. October brings the golden foliage of Catria’s woods: it’s truffle and porcini mushroom season, featured in autumn festivals in nearby villages. The Olivia Room offers a king-size and a single bed, private bathroom, separate entrance, and minibar. The panoramic terrace overlooking Monte Catria is perfect at sunset.
